Adil Regragui Gives White Water Rafting Classes

Since childhood, Adil Regragui was interested in doing things that required him to go outdoors. When he was just a child, his parents would take him hiking, trekking, and camping. As he grew older, he began to take pleasure in boating and fishing. His most fondest memories are those spent with his grandfather catching fish and enjoying the nature.

As he got older, he started canoeing, and slowly that passion developed into white water rafting. The first trip that he took was on very easy rapids at the age of 15, and after that he was hooked. He would look forward to the time that he could take out his friends and feel the rush that he gets when going on gushing rapids. Naturally, he learned swimming in order to make sure he would be able to save himself from drowning.

Adil Regragui works for a local organization that teaches people how to go rafting. He is very articulate and confident and knows how to make people feel comfortable. His classes are always lively. He begins with a theoretical demonstration at the start which lasts about 15-20 minutes. He offers the following tips:-
  1. Wearing a life jacket is not an option. You must have it on at all times.
  2. You don’t have to experienced, you just need to pay attention to the guide and follow his instructions.
  3. Although you are in the proper gear, it is still an adventure sport, and there is risk involved.
  4. Start with easy Level 1 rapids, and slowly progress to the harder ones.
  5. Wear fast drying synthetic clothing, strong shoes, and layer on some strong sunscreen.

Adil’s white water rafting trips consist of 4 hours of rafting starting at 8 in the morning, followed by lunch in the woods, and then 4 hours of rafting back to the base camp. It takes all day, and during this time he provides lessons on how to surf the rapids. He also knows a lot about the surrounding flora and fauna which he also enjoys telling his students about.
